A bit
about me
My name is Matt.
Born in 1990, I bumbled through most of school not really knowing what the hell I wanted to do with my life.
Armed with a BTEC ND and my English Literature A-Level, I got myself to university to study Music Journalism and Broadcasting.
About two-thirds of the way into my course I started dabbling in design modules, and I fell in love with it.
I graduated with a 2:1 in 2014, and knew I wanted to go into a creative role. It was an uphill battle, but like a dog with a bone I did not give up. That grit led me into a career in design that I have truly loved.
I was in and out of freelance work in 2015, trying to gain whatever experience I could. In 2017 I started working as a Junior Designer full-time, while studying the first year of a design degree part-time.
In 2018 I joined McCann Milton Keynes as a Junior Digital Designer.
Digital Design has been my preferred work area. I’m tech savvy and very digital forward, so it’s the type of work I’m naturally drawn to. I like solving problems, putting myself in the shoes of others to design user flows that make sense and are easy to use.
I love engaging with clients, something that’s been a major part of my role since I started working for McCann.
In 2023 I became the sole digital designer remaining at IPG-X, effectively becoming acting Head of Digital without the job title.
I loved being the go-to guy. I led the charge with Instant Experiences for Bentley, Customer Journeys for Volkswagen Financial Services and emails for every brand that McCann MK and IPG-X touched.
Now… I’m looking for my next challenge.
